After days of severe weather in North Texas, a pleasant break is ahead
Our northwest counties were repeatedly pummeled by severe weather throughout Monday and the evening. Multiple reports of hail 2"- 3" in size were common.
North Texas has seen severe weather four days in a row. The cold front arrives Tuesday morning to sweep all this activity away. The oppressive humidity and warm nights are also taking a break for a while.
Overnight lows will reflect the drier air. Temperatures will drop into the lower 60s for the next couple of nights. Wednesday morning will be the first round.
Meteorological summer starts in 13 days. Mornings with a low of 65° or below are rare. Very rare. Last summer, we had just one morning like that across the months of June, July and August.
The weather pattern starts to deliver significant rain and storm possibilities again by Sunday.
May is our wettest month of the year on average. More rain is on the way next week. The 6-10 Day outlook shows a good chance of above-average rainfall for the last days of May.
